FAQs

How do the NetSuite certification tracks work?

NetSuite details “tracks” on their website for certifications, but these are simply suggested training paths (with much overlap), rather than recognized certification groupings. If you are trying to get a job in the NetSuite space, you would be better off listing the exact NetSuite certifications you have rather than stating which suggested track you followed. NetSuite only details these tracks as a means of showing the broad relevance of their exams to various roles at a company. You should take the certifications that make the most sense for your existing or desired roles, whether or not they fall neatly into one of NetSuite’s recommended tracks.

How do the existing NetSuite certifications correspond to the previous ones?

NetSuite’s previous certifications still exist, but they have been reorganized and expanded on. The Associate certifications are all new, as are the majority of the Specialist certifications. The SuiteFoundation certification, which used to be the entry-level exam for all other NetSuite exams, is a Specialist exam, while the remaining previous major certifications (such as the developer, admin, and ERP consultant certifications) are all now listed as Professional certifications. The SuiteFoundation exam is still a requirement for several Professional certifications, but it is not a prerequisite for its fellow Specialist certifications.

Are my existing NetSuite certifications still valid?

Yes, absolutely. Any NetSuite certifications you previously earned are still valid. You have not lost those certifications. You can still list them on your resume and LinkedIn profile. A handful of previous NetSuite certifications may have been renamed and had the content redistributed across multiple existing exams, but you should continue to use the exact exam certification titles you have previously earned.
