How to View NetSuite Record Scripts

NetSuite for Administrators

Have you ever needed to see the NetSuite scripts that are running on a record? At times, you may just need to see a specific script. But on a broader scale, you may just want to review the scripts and workflows that are running on the various records in your NetSuite instance so you can perform some system cleanup. Reviewing these scripts is also a good idea even for users who just want to better understand what customizations are in effect in the system. Let’s take a look at a quick way for you to view NetSuite record scripts.

The Scripted Records Page

Perhaps the best and simplest way for you to view all scripts on a record is to navigate to the Scripted Records page. To access this page, navigate to Customization > Scripting > Scripted Records. Here, you’ll be able to see all the record types that have scripts running on them. You will also be able to see the number of scripts and workflows that are on each record.

To see the list of scripts on any one of these records, select View next to the record you wish to see. Then, on that page, you’ll see the complete list of User Event Scripts, Client Scripts, Custom Forms, and Workflows that are running on the record.

Selecting the name of a script will take you right to that script’s record, where you’ll be able view the details of the script and download the script from the File Cabinet.

Conclusion

Reviewing and investigating NetSuite record scripts is an excellent way to keep a handle on your NetSuite system performance.
